Migrated and scottish teenagers will be meeting in Istanbul.!!!
By ‘’New Beginning and New Opportunities project; poor and deprived teenagers who migrated from villages to big towns are pleased to have this opportunity to meet in Istanbul.
Basak Culture and Art Foundation from Turkey as well as Grey Lodge Settlement from Scothland are organizing this project in order to welcome all cultures and to gather all teenagers from all different cultures to break down the prejudgements.
Teenagers who migrated to Istanbul with their families are trying to live their cultures in a metropolitan life style and having a really hard time to live with that: Teenagers who are coming from Scotchland are having different problems like family issues compare to other teenagers. Our Foundation and Grey Lodge Settlement will be attending with 10 representatives will be total of 20 representatives during this project.
During this project historical and cultural places will be visited in Istanbul as well as cultural activities will be organized. Teenagers think that the biggest problem is the cultural disparity and they are glad to find a chance to gather all teenagers under one roof. The first meeting took place in Scotland on July 09th -21st 2006. (Grey Lodge Settlement)
The second meeting will be taking place on June 29th – 09th of July 2008 in Istanbul. (Basak Culture and Art Foundation).
