Başak Culture and Art Foundation participated in Forum Euromed which had the subject “Union for Mediterranean” and that was hosted by CEMEA Association in order for the NGOs to encounter and share informations and ideas.

From our foundation, Mehmet Ali Düzgün and Emekcan Yücel met with representatives of NGOs from Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Portugal and Poland in Forum Euromed that was held in 26-30 November 2008 in Marseille, France.

In the forum, our youngsters mentioned about the opportunities of our foundation and exchanged information with participants in various subjects such as Union for Mediterranean, Safety of Mediterranean Area, Immigration Between Mediterranean Countries, Possible Dangers for Mediterranean and Cooperation Between NGOs.

In the forum, visa problem was considered to be the major obstacle for breaking the prejudices and providing unity. The damage that visa problem creates for the activities of associations and psychology of the society was pointed out.

Another aim of these meetings on behalf of Forum Euromed was to establish an institutional network in order to create new projects and to share the experiences of the foundations that make projects with the others. Conversations were done in order to specify what kind of a cooperation to create as Mediterranean countries, which opportunities to benefit and to discuss the attitudes of different countries on the Mediterranean subject. The importance of this cooperation was emphasised by the ideas of academicians and researchers.

Başak Culture and Art Foundation will support the cooperation between associations and will try to show its objective of being an important part of the change and development in Turkey and in the world with the projects and works that it will make in the future.
